A friend is one who knows us, but loves us anyway

I just dug out "The Binder" and had a "holy shit!" moment. I'll post about it soon. But first...
This very napkin is the secret to a healthy, happy marriage if you ask me.

I still have this napkin because it makes me laugh. Strangers, please note: I am easily amused. I also laugh at farts.
This, however, isn't all that funny...

Luckily I had my mom and a huge bouquet to hide...."THE DRESS". Trish, you hate me, just fess up. Also, one of only five times I would be seen in a dress. I call it the Sasquatch sighting.

  1. How is it that I USUALLY have such good taste, but for my OWN WEDDING my taste is thrown to the wind?? What was I thinking, you ask? I ask that question, too! I blame the whole tacky mess on my family who imposed restrictions upon my choices that I was simply too young and innocent to oppose. (Does that paint a picture of me that will help you in forgiving me that horrible dress?) I apologize, from the depths of my usually tasteful, but one-time stylistically challenged, heart. Perhaps a box of your own books mailed to you will make up for my lapse of reason?? (she hoped)

  2. But the flowers were okay. I don't regret those.

  3. Okay, I KIND OF regret them. They weren't absolutely awful, but I would choose something more...toned down...now.

  6. YOU look fabulous in the photo, by the way. Even a dress chosen under duress looks hot on you. And, not to defend that horrible dress, the color isn't half-bad on you. It's MUCH BETTER than that awful teal. (shudder.)

  7. Focus on the napkin, Woman! Picture yourself acting on the packing and shipping of my books! For Pete's sake! I've all but showed up at your doorstep to deliver them to me! :)

  8. You looked quite lovely that day even in the dress. Trish looked okay too. Was she pregnant? Still wish you would have saved the dress for making pillows for our place in Calcutta.

It's been 13 years and I STILL don't let her forget.
